Escape (The Piña Colada Song)

Now, I have to admit I really hadn't paid attention to the lyrics of this song until I heard it being sung by Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate on The Sweetest Thing, of my favorite all time chick flicks, or better yet, the ultimate chick flick".
Enjoy this week's classic

Escape (The Piña Colada Song)

I was tired of my lady
We'd been together too long
Like a worn-out recording
Of a favorite song
So while she lay there sleeping
I read the paper in bed
And in the personal columns
There was this letter I read

"If you like Pina Coladas
And getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you'd like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the Cape
Then I'm the love that you've looked for
Write to me and escape."

I didn't think about my lady
I know that sounds kind of mean
But me and my old lady
Have fallen into the same old dull routine
So I wrote to the paper
Took out a personal ad
And though I'm nobody's poet
I thought it wasn't half bad

"Yes I like Pina Coladas
And getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food
I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon
And cut through all this red-tape
At a bar called O'Malley's
Where we'll plan our escape."

So I waited with high hopes
And she walked in the place
I knew her smile in an instant
I knew the curve of her face
It was my own lovely lady
And she said, "Oh it's you."
Then we laughed for a moment
And I said, "I never knew."

That you like Pina Coladas
Getting caught in the rain
And the feel of the ocean
And the taste of champagne
If you'd like making love at midnight
In the dunes of the Cape
You're the lady I've looked for
Come with me and escape

repeat chorus twice and fade out

Funny song! Haven't seen the movie though. I would rather choose into yoga and not champagne. :)

Dude, what can I say... I'm a sucker for chick flicks!!
It's not as if I was looking for a movie with sense or a complicated plot, this one made me laugh all the way to the end, and I loved it!
It might suck, people might not like it, but I loved it. It goes right to the top with Charlie's Angels...
BTW, my "educamation" (*wink*) has nothing to do with my taste in movies. I love almost all types of movies, so please don't judge me for a movie that has a de-stressing effect on me...
Plus, I never really did recommend it, I only said I liked it...

Yo, like dudette, yeah, like... uh, where did my post go? hmmm like poof!

Oh yeah, I hope you saw my j/k and ;-) so I was not being serious...

But really now folks, that damn movie is not even FUNNY! That was the real point I was trying to make. It is just not funny. And what is up with the same butt dance that Cameron does in every damn movie?

So, eh, yeah, this is not serious... but I totally lost respect one time we went out with this couple and we started talking movies and our friend's girlfriend stepped in with the line "oh, did you see Daddy Day Care? I just loved that movie! so funny." Sorry, I can't listen to you anymore if that movie made you laugh...

Again, I'm being an ass on purpose to drive my point accross.
