We really are a blessed 3/4 parts of an island (or maybe the fact is that Puerto Rico deflects everything that comes our way). Hurricane Frances came and went with not much harm done. Up in the North coast there was some rain and flooding, but nothing too important. Here in Santo Domingo there was a couple of cloudy, windy, hot days and it rained some very early this morning. Humidity is very high though. I feel sticky.
My biggest concern right now is Jose, who is currently enjoying his birthday present, a 7-day cruise in the Gulf of Mexico with his pals from school. He's supposed to come home on Sunday, but if Frances strikes Florida we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully he will be out of the water when it goes that far. I can't imagine what it would feel like cruising in the middle of a hurricane.
